Contacting us over the holiday period

Important information for drinking water suppliers and laboratories over the holiday period. 

Our offices will be closed from Friday 20 December 2023, until Monday 6 January 2024.  

During this time, our on-call staff will only respond to urgent notifications of drinking water supply issues. All other notifications sent to The Water Services Authority - Taumata Arowai will be addressed in the new year.  

Phone us if the issue is critical 

If there is an imminent risk of serious illness or death arising from your drinking water supply or if you are feeling out of your depth and concerned about your supply, call us.  

You can contact us on 04 889 8350. This number will be monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week during the holiday period.

To keep our communities safe over the summer break, you’re still required to notify us if you have any reason to think your drinking water may not be safe or not meeting standards. Our on-call staff will be monitoring Hinekōrako for urgent notifications that need immediate action from us.
