Access and setup in the self service portal Hinekōrako
We need laboratories to create an account before Monday 15 November 2021
Taumata Arowai will email you a link to set up a user account in Hinekōrako - our online self-service portal for laboratories and drinking water suppliers.
Once set up, you can access Hinekōrako here.
You’ll need a RealMe® login to access Hinekōrako (you'll find details on how to do this in our guidance section).
Hinekōrako will be your primary channel for notifying us of MAV exceedances, which is why we need you to register before we go live as the water services regulator on 15 November.
If you’re unable to use Hinekōrako, please email us at email@example.com.
Hinekōrako is not a replacement for Drinking Water Online
If you’ve been using Drinking Water Online (DWO), you should have received an email from the Ministry of Health, informing you that they’ll be closing this platform on 30 November this year.
We understand that several laboratories have been using DWO as a platform to organise sampling schedules and to store results. Hinekōrako will not offer this functionality as it’s been designed to support different legislation and a different regulatory approach. Under the Water Services Act, drinking water suppliers are responsible for ensuring compliance and for working with labs to organise sampling schedules.
Hinekōrako has been designed to receive and store notifications and contact details but not to manage supplies or schedule sampling.
We recognise that the timing of this change may introduce challenges for you. We suggest that if you have any questions or issues regarding DWO that you contact the Ministry of Health who are responsible for the platform.
