For the public
Find out who supplies your drinking water, the laws, regulations and measures in place to keep your drinking water safe, and what to do if there’s a drinking water emergency or you have a concern or complaint.
The Water Services Authority – Taumata Arowai is the water services regulator for New Zealand. We regulate and guide drinking water suppliers to ensure they meet their responsibilities for monitoring and treating water so it’s safe to drink when it arrives to you.
We also play a role improving the way wastewater and stormwater networks affect the environment. Learn more about what we do in the about us section.
