Insights from Moa Point report

The independent Moa Point Crown Review Report identifies systemic failures and vulnerabilities that extend beyond Wellington.

The report insights are informing the Authority’s national-level focus as we gear up our oversight of the wastewater system.

We will work with the water industry to ensure the lessons identified in the Report are understood and applied nationally.

We are already ramping up reporting and transparency through our network reporting alongside the new wastewater standards, to ensure non-compliance and vulnerabilities are identified and addressed.

And, with our sector partners, we are exploring how our future tools, such as wastewater risk management requirements and National Engineering Design Standards, can strengthen system wide asset and risk management.

We look forward to talking more about how we are operationalising our wastewater role in ways that address these system challenges at the upcoming Water New Zealand Conference.
