For Editors

Taumata Arowai became the drinking water regulator on 15 November 2021 when it took over from the Ministry of Health.

Suppliers must comply with the Drinking Water Quality Assurance Rules and Drinking Water Standards which came into effect on 14 November 2022.

We wrote to suppliers on 29 June 2023 reminding them that they must comply with the requirements of the Water Services Act 2021.
