Compliance order served for Clutha District Council's Milton supply

01 December 2023

On Friday, 24 November Taumata Arowai served a compliance order for the Milton drinking water supply operated by the Clutha District Council.

A Drinking Water Safety Plan review of the Milton drinking water supply highlighted that the supply does not comply with the Water Services Act 2021 (the Act) and the Drinking Water Quality Assurance Rules (the Rules) in a range of ways.

The Compliance Order sets out what’s needed to meet the requirements of the Act and Rules to assure Taumata Arowai that the Clutha District Council is supplying safe drinking water to its community.

Taumata Arowai are undertaking reviews of Drinking Water Safety Plans (DWSP) under section 32 of the Water Services Act 2021 (the Act).
