Stormwater sector engagement
Have your say on how we should use our stormwater tools and functions.
We are keen to learn more about the key challenges and opportunities for the stormwater sector. Industry input is vital to help shape the role we play and prioritise the actions we take. The Water NZ Stormwater Conference will set the stage for the engagement we will be leading between May and September 2026.

Our approach
The Authority is developing a position paper to support our engagement with the stormwater sector.
The position paper helps to illustrate the problems we are seeing and identify the tools we have that could support stormwater oversight and system performance, learning from international practices.
The position paper will be released shortly after the Water NZ Stormwater Conference, building on the input we receive during a pre-conference workshop with industry stakeholders.

A summary of our engagement will be released later in 2026.
